Preset Deduction Tiers: Overrides
When attempting to leverage our new Deductions with Tiered Matching release, you may experience an error message stating that the application of tiered matching has failed. This is caused by employees that possess either an employer deduction maximum or an employer contribution amount that differs from the one set at the company level. The error message will include a downloadable CSV file with a list of employees who are causing the update to fail.
To fix this error and ensure that your employer contributions are calculated correctly, you'll need to review the employer maximum and contribution on the deduction for the employees noted, and then either:
-
Remove all of the differing deduction maximums or employer contributions for the individuals noted. After implementing the tiered match, you may modify the employee's maximums and employer contributions if needed.
-
Create a brand new deduction at the company level with a tiered match and assign it to all appropriate employees.
If you have a Company Employer Match set up and have employees with an individual override of both the maximum and the employer contribution, you will not receive the error. This issue stems from individuals who have an override on just one of these two fields.
