Agency SUI Rate Exchange Q3 2021

OVERVIEW

Namely was recently informed of rate changes made by a number of state unemployment tax agencies in Q3 2021 that may have impacted one of your company's tax rates. We’ve updated the affected taxes in Namely Payroll and will be filing your Q3 2021 taxes using the new rate information.

As the rate changes were communicated to Namely near quarter-end, tax payments collected in pay cycles throughout the quarter may not reflect the updated payment amount. This could result in a variance credit or debit appearing on your Q3 2021 tax package when it's released on October 8, 2021. Collections and refunds will appear on your account on or around October 12.

You can review your tax rates by logging into Namely Payroll and going to Company > Tax. Any rate that has been updated will have Agency Exchange Q321 listed in the Modified By field.

If you have any questions or concerns about a modification please submit a case in our Help Community using the selections Payroll > Tax > Service > General and the subject line CID # - Company Name - Q3 2021 Rate Validation.

FAQ

How will I know if a tax was updated or changed as a result of agency exchange rates?

Any taxes that were updated by Namely due to Q3 2021 agency exchange rates will have Agency Exchange Q321 populated in the Modified By field for the tax.

Why didn’t I see any rates updated for my company?

If there were agency exchange rates that were not updated in Namely, it could be due to one of the following.

  • A missing third party authorization (TPA) is on file with the agency

  • An inactive tax

  • No changes were communicated by the state agency.

The agency provided me a different rate than what was entered in Namely - can I use that one instead?

Yes. You can enter the rate you were provided by the agency directly in Namely Payroll.
