Namely Time: Preventing Negative Accrual Balances
This article provides instructions on how to configure Namely Time to avoid negative accrual balances.
OVERVIEW
In Namely Time, prevent time-off requests that result in negative accrual balances by updating the settings in Clock Configurations. This will ensure that employees cannot request time off if they do not have the available time off balance.
INSTRUCTIONS

In Namely Time, click the Configuration tab.

Select Other Configurations from the submenu > Clock Configurations.

Choose the applicable clock configuration.

Expand the Operations section.

Select the check boxes for Allow time off request > Prevent time requests causing negative accruals below the allowed amount.

Click Save.
TIP:
You can also add a warning message to display when employees try to submit requests that will cause a negative accrual balance. You can enable this message by following the steps below:
Go to Company > Company Defaults > Manager.
Expand the Accruals section.
Under Accrual Warning, select either of the two options below:
Forecast to current date and warn if balance will be negative. This option will warn the employee on the day the request is input that will result in negative balance.
Forecast to date of segment and warn is balance will be negative. This option looks at the actual date the employee is requesting and will warn if the balance will be negative.
Click Save.
