WHAT'S CHANGING?
Navigation Menu
The Namely Time navigation menu is now accessible on the left side of the screen.
Accrual Reset Rules
Multiple accrual reset rules can now be created and assigned to accrual banks. Similar to Accrual Rules and Accrual Cap Rules, Accrual Reset rules are now configured separately and then assigned to Accrual Banks.
TIP:
This feature can be configured to allow different carryover amounts based on tenure. Additionally, multiple reset rules can be applied to a single Accrual Bank.
Accrual Units
Accruals can now be displayed in hours or days. To update, go to Company > Company Defaults > Display Options.
Holiday Editor
Holidays can be configured to restrict time off requests (and shown in the calendar).
The Holiday Editor will also allow you the option to specify how many hours are allotted for a specific holiday.
TIP:
The default setting for employees' work week will not change and it is no longer necessary to go to the employee's profile just to adjust work week settings.
Date Range Filters in Reports
Period date ranges will now persist when switching between reports, so you can switch between tasks easily without losing your place!
This setting can be turned on or off by navigating via Namely dropdown menu at the top right-hand corner > My Options > Options.
TIP:
You can also enable or disable the feature within a user's profile by navigating to Configuration > Users > User Profiles > Options.
![]()
Additionally, a Last Filter Used setting is now available. With this setting, the system will remember the last filter options used and can be carried over into new pages or reports.
This setting can be turned on or off by navigating via Namely dropdown menu at the top right-hand corner > My Options > Options.
TIP:
Check to see if this feature is enabled in the event a specific employee is missing on a report. It's likely a previously used filter is still active causing certain employees or information to be omitted.
Approval Orders
Approval orders can now be set for approving time segments. To set an approval order, go to Company > Company Defaults > Manager > Segment Approvals.
You can require approval from a preceding person before the next person can go in the lineup, by using Required option next to the approver.
TIP:
The order of the Manager, Employee, and Other columns on the employee timecards will now be in a different order. Managers should pay close attention to the columns and ensure that they are marking the correct ones.
Altering the order in which these appear will in turn impact the order of the approval columns on the employee’s timecards. In order to achieve the previous layout, the order must be as follows:![]()
Clock-In Status
Clocking buttons will take into account the user’s current clocked-in status making it easier to update statuses and prevent missed punches.
Donate Accrued Leave
Employees can now donate or transfer accrued leave across accrual banks including donating hours to other employees or transferring hours from one bank to another bank belonging to the same employee This can be done by navigating to Hours > Individual Hours > Accruals Tab > View Ledger for relevant bank > Transfer.
TIP:
This option is only visible to Managers.
