BREAKDOWN OF OVERTIME METHODS

  • Best of Bi-Weekly vs. Daily: This calculates overtime for each day and every two weeks. If overtime is calculated for both, it follows the one that pays more. This overtime calculation will not calculate correctly without a rate in Namely Time. It is similar to Best of Weekly vs. Daily.

  • Best of Weekly vs. Daily: This calculates overtime across each day and week. If overtime is calculated for both, it follows the one that pays more. This overtime calculation will not calculate correctly without a rate in Namely Time.

  • Bi-Weekly Overtime: This calculates overtime across two weeks.

  • Both Daily and Bi-Weekly Overtime: This calculates overtime across each day and every two weeks. If overtime is calculated for both daily and bi-weekly, it pays both. There are two methods of Both Daily and Bi-Weekly overtime. They both calculate daily overtime, but bi-weekly overtime is calculated differently.

  • Both Daily and Weekly: This calculates overtime across each day and week. If overtime is calculated for both daily and weekly, it pays both. There are two methods of Both Daily and Weekly overtime. They both calculate daily overtime, but weekly overtime is calculated differently.

  • Daily and Weekly Overtime (1): This method looks at all of the hours to calculate daily overtime. All of the regular hours are added to calculate weekly overtime. This method looks at the Hours column to calculate regular and daily overtime then adds up the Regular column to calculate weekly overtime. 

  • Daily and Weekly Overtime (2): This method looks at all of the hours to calculate daily overtime.  All of the hours are added to calculate weekly overtime. 

  • Daily Overtime: This calculates overtime across each day.

  • Quad Weekly Overtime: This calculates overtime across four weeks. This method is generally used for firefighters and police.

  • Salaried: This is not a method of calculating overtime in Namely's system. Use this method to disable overtime.

  • Weekly Overtime: This calculates overtime across each week.
