What are the main differences between Org Units/Teams and Custom Teams in Namely?
Org Units/Teams:
-
Can be imported to and are generally easier to upkeep
-
If selected within the group’s setting, the group can display within the team’s page
-
Can be reported via the Namely Reporting Engine
-
Used for filters within performance, time off, and other Namely features
-
Will display directly in employee profiles
-
Groups will not impact the org chart --Teams & Allocations will populate the org chart in the “People” tab
Custom Teams:
-
More manual and can not be imported to
-
Often utilized for project management, employee engagement councils or clubs, or the ability to identify different org charts in a company besides the standard org chart found in the “People” tab
-
Allow for more customization and a more granular look into team setups
-
Allow for separate job titles from an employee’s job title in their profile
-
Allow for team-specific reporting within the Teams tab, such as Headcount, Salaries, etc. (please note custom teams are not reported within the Namely Reporting Engine like Org Units/Teams)
-
Allow for custom goals that are team-specific
Note: For clients implemented before April 15, 2019, Org Units are known as Groups.
