How do I pay an Employee without a SSN?

If you need to pay an employee without a Social Security Number (SSN), we recommend creating a dummy SSN consisting of all nines (Ex. 999-99-9999) until the employee's SSN has been received, and entering it on the employee profile in Namely HCM, where it will flow onto their Payroll profile. Once the SSN has been provided by the employee, you should update their profile with it as soon as possible.

Namely requires each employee to have a Social Security Number to ensure proper tax filings and W-2s. If you fail to update a dummy Social Security Numbers prior to the end of the quarter, you may require amendments or W-2Cs.
