How do I avoid incurring inaccurate reporting penalties?

In certain states, such as Alabama, penalties could be incurred for inaccurate reporting. Please ensure that an employee’s start date is accurate by reviewing the Start Date field within the employee's HRIS profile. This can be done by following the steps below:

  1. Log in to your Namely site.

  2. Go to People > select the applicable employee

  3. Go to the General tab and check the date under Tenure.

    • If the date needs to be updated, select the three dots in the upper right-hand corner > Edit. Update the Start Date field under Tenure to the desired date.

      TIP:

      When an employee leaves an organization and is rehired, the most recent hire date (i.e., their rehire date) should be listed as the Start Date. As part of our new rehire process, the Start Date will be populated with an employee’s rehire date automatically when an employee is rehired.
