How can I pause a deduction?

If you would like to "pause" a deduction (i.e., prevent it from deducting from an employee's pay), you will need to temporarily end date the deduction in Namely Payroll, then remove the end date when you would like to restart the deduction.  

In order to end date a deduction:

  1. Navigate to to Namely Payroll > Employee > Search.

  2. Once you have located the employee's profile, click Deductions.

  3. Click Edit next to the deduction you would like to temporarily end. 

  4. Under the Edit Record section, enter the desired End Date.

  5. Click Save.

Note: benefits deductions should not be end-dated manually.  All changes to benefits enrollments and benefits deductions should only happen via a life event submitted through the Enrollment Wizard.
