Which date should I enter in the Start Date field on my rehired employee’s profile—their first date of hire or the most recent?
You should always enter your employee’s most recent hire date (i.e., their rehire date) for the Start Date on their HRIS profile. Payroll reporting, time off accruals, and anniversaries (displayed on the newsfeed) all flow from this hire date.
