What is a "pending" employee in HRIS?
An employee will be listed as Pending if:

They have not yet completed their onboarding session, and
-
Their start date has not yet occurred.
Please note:

An employee in Pending status will not be able to log in to Namely; they will instead need to access their onboarding session via the Namely onboarding email.

Once an employee has completed their onboarding session, their status will update to Active, even if their start date has not occurred.

An employee’s status will automatically update to Active on the employee’s start date, even if they have not yet completed their onboarding session.

The Pending status option is available on any employee profile, along with Active and Inactive statuses. Namely recommends only utilizing the Pending status option during onboarding, and using Active and Inactive status options any time after onboarding.
