Custom Reports – Payroll Register Column Definitions
A list of definitions for each payroll register column in Custom Reports.
Categories

Line Item Category: Each individual line item on a paycheck is given a row. Line Item Categories correspond to types of line items on a paycheck, like an Earning, Withholding, or Garnishment.

Line Item Subcategory: Each individual line item on a paycheck is given a row. Line Item Subcategories are the specific value for a line item type, for example, Cell Phone Reimbursement or Salary for Earning, and Federal or Social Security for Withholding.
Client Information

Client ID: The 4-digit unique identifier for each subsidiary

Client Name: The name of the subsidiary (or “Payroll Company”)

EIN: The Employer ID to which this paycheck line corresponds
Deductions

Employee Deduction Amount: The deduction amount for Employees. This will have a value if this line item is an Employee Deduction. This column is most likely to be used when doing aggregations. Adding this column will allow you to see this side by side with other aggregations.

Employer Deduction Amount: The deduction amount for Employers. This will have a value if this line item is an Employer Deduction. This column is most likely to be used when doing aggregations. Adding this column will allow you to see this side by side with other aggregations.

Is Pre-Tax Deduction?: A Yes/No value of whether this line item deduction is a pre-tax deduction or not
Employee Information

First Name: The first name of the employee

Last Name: The last name of the employee

State of Residence: The state in which this employee lives

Employee ID: The 6-digit automatically generated unique identifier that is assigned when a user is added to Payroll

Employee Number: An optional field that is set on an employee’s HCM Profile

Hire Date: The date on which the employee was hired. This date is across subsidiaries.
Org Units

Department Name: Name of the department corresponding to this paycheck line

Department Code: Code of the department corresponding to this paycheck line

Division Name: Name of the division corresponding to this paycheck line

Division Code: Code of the division corresponding to this paycheck line

Branch Name: Name of the branch corresponding to this paycheck line

Branch Code: Code of the branch corresponding to this paycheck line

Class Name: Name of the class corresponding to this paycheck line

Class Code: Code of the class corresponding to this paycheck line
Pay Cycles

Pay Cycle ID: ID for the corresponding Pay Cycle

Pay Cycle Start Date: The Start Date for this Pay Cycle
-
Pay Cycle End Date: The End Date for this Pay Cycle

Pay Cycle Due Date: The date which this Pay Cycle is due

Pay Cycle Pay Date: The pay date for this Pay Cycle
-
Pay Code: The name of the earning used to pay your employee

Is Paid?: A Yes/No value of whether this paycheck line has been paid to the employee or not.

Is Approved?: A Yes/No value of whether this paycheck line is part of an Approved Pay Cycle. Use this to filter down to just Approved or Unapproved rows.

Nacha Export Date: The date when a pay cycle has been finalized by the Namely system and the process of debiting your account for funds has begun.

Pay Cycle Type: Whether the Pay Cycle is a Standard or Manual Pay Cycle.

Pay Group: The Pay Group related to this paycheck line
Paycheck

Hours: The number of hours corresponding with this line item

Amount: The amount of money corresponding with this line item
-
Calculated Net Pay: This comes from Wages minus Deductions and Withholdings.

Paycheck Notes: At the Paycheck level, this is free form text that can be manually entered.
Wages

Wage Amount: This field will match the Amount value when the Line Item Category is “Earning.” This column is most likely to be used when doing aggregations. Adding this column will allow you to see this side by side with other aggregations.
Withholdings

Employee Withholding Amount: The amount of taxes paid by the employee for this line item. This column is most likely to be used when doing aggregations. Adding this column will allow you to see this side by side with other aggregations.

Employer Withholding Amount: The amount of taxes paid by the employer for this line item. This column is most likely to be used when doing aggregations. Adding this column will allow you to see this side by side with other aggregations.

Is Taxable Wage?: A Yes/No value that tells you whether this is a taxable wage.

Is Tax Collected?: A Yes/No value that refers to whether Namely collects for the tax itself

Tax Collection Status: This lets you know whether a tax that Namely collects has been collected.

State Worked In: The state in which the corresponding employee worked
