Qualifying Life Events after Open Enrollment
We’re making it easier to navigate benefits elections after a qualifying life event.
OVERVIEW
With our latest release, Namely is here to support you and your employees through change when qualifying life events impact benefits elections. Now Namely will alert you and your employees right away if their QLE and OE elections might conflict, making it easier to understand how to make changes to future elections and showing immediate updates to their employee deductions.
HOW IT WORKS
Whenever your employees make benefits changes due to a qualifying life event (QLE) after they’ve already made open enrollment (OE) elections, their QLE elections last only until the upcoming OE effective date. To help make this distinction clearer—and to better inform you and your employees of any necessary next steps—our latest release includes two new features.
New Alerts
Namely now lets both you and your employees know when open enrollment elections may override more recent benefits changes.
New alerts for employees highlight when upcoming OE elections are scheduled to take effect and indicate that employees will need admin support to continue their recent QLE elections beyond this date.
Additional new alerts for admins clearly list the employees who have made recent QLE elections, letting you know proactively that they’ll need your assistance to continue their QLE elections beyond the OE effective date.
Immediate Deduction Updates
Now deductions for employees' elections will automatically match the benefits they’re enrolled in—even if employees experience a qualifying life event during open enrollment. And if you make any updates to an employee’s elections, those changes are reflected immediately in their deductions as well.
With our latest update, Namely is here to help you and your employees handle life’s changes—making it easier than ever to navigate benefits elections when a qualifying event occurs after open enrollment.
