New Hires and Open Enrollment
Explains how to handle New Hire enrollments during Open Enrollment.
If you have an employee whose new hire window overlaps with Open Enrollment, they'll be prompted to make their New Hire elections first. Once those elections are approved, they'll be offered the Open Enrollment event.
If the effective date of the employee's New Hire and Open Enrollment benefits differ, they should enroll in both the new hire event, and your company's Open Enrollment to ensure they have no lapses in coverage. The New Hire enrollment will enroll them in your current plan year. They will need to enroll in the Open Enrollment event as well to elect plans for your upcoming plan year.
