Combo Rates (Age-banded and Tiered) for Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans – Released 3/19/2020
You can now create combination age and tier-based plans for medical, dental, and vision. These plans are currently mainly offered through Kaiser where the rate depends both on the age of the employee and the tier they enroll in
We've released an update to our benefits setup assistant to allow combo rates (both age and tier-based) for medical, dental, and vision plans. These rates are currently most commonly used by Kaiser, where the rate depends both on the age of the employee and the tier they enroll in.
Combo Rates
When configuring your medical, dental, and vision plan rates, on the Rate Type page, you'll now be prompted with a new question if you indicate that the plan is age-banded:
If you select that the plan is based on both ages and tiers, you can either select the default age band (Age 0-29, then every 10 years until 49, and every 5 years starting 50), which is recommended by Kaiser, or you can enter your own.
