Invalid Social Security Number Warning

Just a friendly reminder please ensure that you are validating your employees’ Social Security Numbers and correcting any invalid SSNs (i.e 000-00-0001). As a reminder, until a valid SSN is assigned, a person is not authorized to work in the United States.

Effective 2/1/2023, fees will be applied to the next applicable billing invoice for each invalid Social Security Number processed through payroll. In-app warning messages and payroll verification reports will continue to pop up when invalid SSNs are entered in the system or included in the payroll postings to provide adequate visibility to the employee data that must be corrected.

***Please note: Profiles flagged with any Exemption Type will be excluded from the invalid SSN billing AS LONG AS the profile does NOT reflect an ITIN (starting with 9). Visa workers should be set up with a valid SSN or an SSN beginning with all 0’s (000-00-0000, 000-00-0001, etc.) until a valid SSN is assigned. ***
